Gardens are an ancient pleasure and an ancient necessity. They provided sustenance like fruits, vegetable, and grains. They provided raw materials like dyes and fibers, and adornments for rituals and celebrations. Palace gardens advertised wealth and power. Temple gardens created spaces for contemplation. Herb gardens provided medicines, offered cures and ways to ward off evils, spirits and even insects. Ruling classes strolled their labyrinthine gardens while humble peasants fenced in their small kitchen gardens. Every culture has a culture of gardening.
Thousands upon thousands of years later, gardens continue to provide us with food, beauty, a myriad of products and benefits. We enjoy a rich inheritance from gardens all over the world. We benefit from knowledge passed down from gardener to gardener, we take inspiration from classic gardens or those that tried something new, and we plant and hope and harvest like all the gardeners that came before us.
And one gardening constant throughout history, is the gardener. There is no garden if there is no gardener. Designing, renovating and maintaining gardens is what I do. I garden, you enjoy. Call, text or email today to get your garden started.
Estate Gardening
A Labor of Love
With a passion for gardening, a fascination with plants, and thirty years of experience, I take on all the garden labor, you get all the garden love.
Trimming, planting, transplanting, dividing, walls, edges, and much more. Perennial gardens, shrubs, vegetable and herb gardens, wildflower areas, and, most importantly, weeding.
Designs for new and mature landscapes, with attention to your needs, your style, and your budget. I offer a free annual checkup with every new design and install package, and am happy to help do-it-yourselfers.
Baskets, wreaths, a repurposed antique, a bowl of fresh tulips for a garden party, a bunny made of moss, a horse made of corn, a hand painted barn "quilt",... Creative, custom made / custom built projects for interior/exterior purposes.
An ornamental or shade tree, or even a dedicated garden, is an impactful way to honor and remember a loved one who has passed away. I can pick out and plant the perfect tree for you, or help you design and plan a garden of remembrance. I am happy to discuss your options because I know it has to be just right.
Mailbox Issues?
A very common problem in the springtime here in the Twin Tiers is a downed or damaged mailbox. I can fix that. I follow the guidelines set forth by the USPS, and I offer custom designs!
