Hedgerow is a place. It's first and foremost a home. Wildflowers edge the hayfields, chickens roam the yard, and deer like to browse in the late afternoon sun.
Hedgerow is also an opportunity. A chance to expand small gardens into small industries, occasional hobbies into art, and a chance to share over twenty five years of experience - designing, creating, building, growing and harvesting.
Those experiences emanated from projects by Christopher's Flowers, a creative enterprise that was located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey for twenty two years and was built around the idea that quality rules over quantity. For over twenty two years, Christopher's turned out trend setting work in floral design and holiday décor. Started by Christopher Volz and co-owned by sibling Ann-Marie Volz, Christopher's Flowers worked in venues throughout Philadlphia and across New Jersey, and competed multiple times in the Philadelphia Flower Show Florist Invitational,
After saying goodbye to the demands of retail, Ann-Marie Volz started building Hedgerow Studio & Gardens on a raw piece of Northeastern Pennsylvania land, while achieving certification as a Pennsylvania Horticulturist. The home and business at Hedgerow are entirely solar powered.
Christopher Volz will always work with flowers, but has used his retail-free time to design landscapes, renovate a home and elevate his sculpting skills. Starting out in papier mache, Christopher now sculpts his whimsical pieces using home made paper pulp and paper clay.
